Using the site means accepting what is below. It is short because most of it is about what we are not.
We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice
InterlockDeviceNearMe is an independent guide. We do not practice law, we are not attorneys, and nothing here creates an attorney-client relationship. Reading this site is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer licensed in your state, and the deadlines in a drunk driving case are short enough that the difference matters.
When you ask us to connect you with an attorney, we pass your details on. We do not represent you, we do not supervise them, and we do not take a view on how your case should be run.
We are not an interlock provider
We do not sell, install, service or remove devices, and we are not agents of the companies that do. Appearing on this site is not an endorsement, and no company pays to be listed. Our own basis for listing and ranking is set out in the editorial policy.
About the information itself
Every legal and price figure here carries the regulation, statute or agency page it came from, and the date we checked it. We think that is the right standard, and we hold ourselves to it — but it does not make the site authoritative. Laws change, agencies rewrite their pages, and providers change prices without telling anyone.
So: use what is here to know what to ask, then confirm anything that matters with the agency or the provider before you act on it. If you find something out of date, tell us and we will fix it — that is faster than it sounds, because each figure is tied to its source.
How we are paid
At the moment we are not. There are no affiliate links on the site, no provider pays to be listed, and no submission has been passed to anyone. The intended model — affiliate links and paid introductions — is set out in full in how we make money, and that page changes the day the first of it goes live. Either way it does not change what we publish: the price and legal data comes from state sources, and we have published findings that are unhelpful to the companies we would be paid by.
Your side of it
Use the site lawfully, do not try to break it or scrape it at a rate that degrades it for others, and give accurate details in the forms. Submitting someone else’s phone number as your own is not a prank — it exposes them to calls they never agreed to and exposes you to liability under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
Liability
The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that everything on it is accurate, complete or current, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for losses arising from relying on it or from anything a provider or attorney does after we introduce you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Our own material
The analyses in research are free to reuse with a link back; the underlying federal data is a US government work and was never ours to restrict. The rest of the writing on the site is ours.
