Privacy policy
This is written to be read, not to be survived. It says what we collect, who gets it, and how to make us delete it.
The short version
If you only read the forms, we collect what you type into them — your name, phone number, email address and ZIP code. The purpose of the form is to pass that to interlock providers or attorneys so they can contact you, and the consent text above the button says so. As of the date at the top of this page we have not passed a single submission to anyone: no provider or attorney arrangement is live yet. Submissions sit in our own database and nowhere else.
If you never use a form, we do not collect anything that identifies you. There is no account, no login, and nothing you have to accept to read the site.
What we collect when you submit a form
- Your name, phone number, email address and ZIP code.
- The state and city of the page you submitted from, so we can match you with someone licensed or operating there.
- A record of your consent: the exact wording you agreed to, its version, the date and time, your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, and the page URL.
That consent record exists for your protection as much as ours. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, whoever calls you has to be able to show you agreed to be called. Keeping the exact text you saw is how that is proved rather than asserted.
This is the wording currently in use, stored with every submission made under it:
By submitting this form, I provide my ESIGN signature and express written consent to be contacted by InterlockDeviceNearMe and up to three ignition interlock providers or attorneys at the phone number and email address I provided, including by automatic telephone dialing system, artificial or prerecorded voice, and SMS text message. I understand consent is not a condition of purchase, that message and data rates may apply, and that I can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP or by contacting the sender.
Who we share it with
Today, nobody. No provider or attorney receives submissions from this site, and none pays us. When that changes it will work as the consent describes: interlock providers and attorneys, up to three of them for any one submission, contacting you directly and handling your information under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We would be paid for making the introduction, which is set out in how we make money. Until then the sharing described here is what we intend to do, not what we are doing.
We do not sell or pass your details to anyone else: no data brokers, no advertising networks, no mailing lists.
California: this counts as a sale
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, passing your information to a provider or attorney who pays for it is a sale of personal information, even though you asked us to make the introduction. No such sale has happened yet, because no introduction has. We are setting out the opt-out now rather than when it becomes convenient: California residents have the right to refuse it in advance.
To opt out, email support@interlockdevicenearme.com with «Do Not Sell or Share» in the subject line. We will not pass on anything you send us after that. If you have already submitted a form and want it undone, say so and we will delete the record — but we cannot claw it back from a provider who already received it, and we will tell you who that was.
Your rights wherever you live
We apply the same rules to everyone rather than sorting people by state. You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and we will do it within 30 days. Email support@interlockdevicenearme.com from the address you used, or tell us the phone number you submitted.
You can also stop contact at the source: reply STOP to any text message, or tell the provider or attorney directly. That works immediately and does not depend on us.
How long we keep it
Submissions are kept for two years and then deleted. The reason for keeping them that long is the consent record: TCPA claims can be brought long after the call, and without the record neither you nor we can establish what was actually agreed. If you ask for deletion sooner, we delete it sooner.
Analytics and cookies
We do not set advertising cookies and we do not run retargeting. If site analytics are enabled, they are Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies and receives a truncated record of the pages you viewed; Google’s own policy governs what it does with that. Nothing on this site requires cookies to work, and blocking them changes nothing except our page counts.
Where the data lives
Submissions are stored in a managed Postgres database hosted in the United States, and the site itself runs on Vercel. Both are contracted service providers, not recipients of your data in their own right.
Children
The site is for adults dealing with a driving offense and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted a form, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes we update the date at the top. The consent wording is handled differently and more strictly: it is versioned, old versions are never edited, and every submission keeps the version it was made under.
